Groan

A buddy of mine here at work - lets call him Scott - well, nice guy and all, he and his wife are expecting, congrats to them. Usually on Monday mornings a bunch of us guys will go for a walk over to Tim Horton's and grab a coffee, but this morning he told me he couldn't make it. Something to do with an appointment for the pregnancy.

He told me they are having a midwife crisis...

For the adventurous types...

... I present to you:

The Turducken.

It is a turkey, stuffed with a duck, which in turn, is stuffed with a chicken (of course the chicken has stuffing in it).

Things that piss me off

So - ya, obviously waking up to the first significant snowfall puts everyone in a bad mood. Unless of course you're Santa Clause or something. Traffic sucked this morning of course - and it took an eternity to get in to work today.

That's right - I still work at HBH - and there' s a few other things that piss me off in regards to working here. So let's get into them:

I park in the parking garage right next to my building. Its your typical drive for a bit, go up a level, drive for a bit, go up a level parking garage. All the while, following the cars in front of you. Now here's what pisses me off: why do people need to pull into their spots backwards? If they were to just pull in frontwards, they could do so quickly, and I would be on my way to the 9th floor (ya, that's also a piss-off). But since they ALL feel the need to back into their spots, I have to wait for each one of these dummys. I don't understand at all how backing in during the morning will save so much time when they go to leave at night.

Now this one involves actually being in the office. I work in an office space with a mix of cubicles and traditional offices. Fair, fine, I have no problem with that. But here's what bugs the shit outta me. Obviously its a very busy space, shared by many people. And because of the large amount of people - noise is an issue. So I don't understand why practically everyone has their phone ringer volume set at the highest possible. It doesn't make sense. If your phone rings, and you're at your desk, you are going to hear it - even if the volume is at its lowest. However, if you're not at your desk, like in a meeting, in a the washroom, whatever, no matter how loud it is, you are NOT going to hear it. But the rest of us do have to listen to it ring off the hook at the loudest possible setting. Which drives me bonkers. I think it's a respect thing, and as a sign of respect for others around me, I try to make as little noise as possible.

That's it for today - I'll try and write more blog posts, perhaps about other things that piss me off, in the near future.
